State Funding

Includes:

- Entitlement to NHS (National Health Service) services, both those directly provided by NHS and those that may be purchased from other agencies and paid for by the NHS.

- Entitlement to Local Authority Funded services, including those paid for by a Personal Budget. (NB - Local Authority funding is subject to eligibility criteria and may be means tested.) Some state services are free at point of access and where this is the case we indicate this on their individual service page. Some are "individually commissioned", which means that you may be able to access a service if you meet certain funding criteria. For more information on this you should talk to your local authority or health provider.

Private Funding

Is any other form of funding but typically includes:

- Funding from an insurance company

- Funding from a compensation award

Some services are Charitable, that is they are provided free of charge by voluntary organisations. Where this is the case we indicate this on their individual service page.
