The unit undertakes assessment, investigation and treatment of adults with an acquired brain injury, including traumatic and anoxic brain injuries, stroke, and encephalitis. They also see people with a primary mental illness diagnosis, who may also have suffered a brain injury, and people who may have sustained brain injuries in the context of drug or alcohol use.Most people are seen in the outpatient clinic.
