The BIS Services are committed to providing a person centered quality service to individuals living with traumatic or acquired brain injuries and neurological illness. The support we offer encompasses community based cognitive rehabilitation and the development of person specific approaches to daily living skills. By working with the clients and their families in their own home, we aim to maximise independence, so that individuals may live more effectively in their communities.
The BIS Services place strong emphasis upon meeting identified individual needs and each support package reflects this. Valuing dignity, privacy, individuality and equality supports the individual£s lifestyle. We provide specialised brain injury rehabilitation workers who can provide continuity and consistency of approach and who understand brain injury and the values of social integration.
We are currently also delivering our cognitive assessment and rehabilitation program.
Upon initial assessment, we will identify areas of cognitive deficit and implement well-known rehabilitation methods and programs to improve these areas of deficit. The program involves pen and paper exercises combined with functional activities and requires input from family members where available, along with daily tasks completed by the client independently. The program complements other interventions we currently provide and our rehabilitation assistants are involved in the program to increase the programs efficacy.
