Our specialist neuro-therapist team works with each patient to rehabilitate them to their best possible potential; once they have reached this point, we prepare them and their families for every aspect of discharge.
We work with adults whose disabilities have been caused by brain injuries brought about by physical trauma, such as an assault or car accident, and physiological incidents, such as strokes and heart attacks.
We identify a person's current ability and their potential to improve. Then, using a balance of both conventional treatments and specialist therapies, we aim to strengthen and expand on their individual physical, cognitive and communicative abilities. We do this by:
- Assessing needs and abilities
- Setting personal goals
- Strengthening abilities with special treatment
- Preparing for discharge
(There is also a transitional rehabilitation unit at Haberdashers House - see separate entry.)
