Behavioural optometry or Neurodevelopmental optometry, assessing full scope of visual function in terms of eyesight, focussing abilities, eye coordination abilities, tracking abilities, light sensitivity, motion sensitivity, midline shifts, simultaneous information processing deficits, eye health and visual field assessment. Provision of appropriate corrective devices be they glasses or specialist prismatic devices. Recommendations for outside referral as appropriate. Provision of vision training activities to improve visual function working in conjunction with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, carers and co-workers to improve overall function and activities for daily living (ADL's). Provision of written and verbal explanations of how changes in visual function associated with acquired brain injury affect ADL's. Ongoing support and guidance to patients, their families and anybody involved in the care of the patient whilst they are involved in the rehabilitation process.Services available
